Admissions

Tenbury High School is sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) who are the admissions authority for this academy. However, admission to the academy is organised through the Local Authority. For more information on how to apply and how to get in touch with the relevant team – click here or contact the Local Authority on 01905 722233.

The process for all appeals is conducted by the Clerk to the Governors:

Admission appeals – Year 7

(Admission appeal process for Year 7 entry in September 2026 for places allocated on the national notification date of 2 March 2026).

Parents have the right to appeal against the decision to refuse their child a place at the School. No appeal can be lodged before the 1 March 2026.

Appeal forms can be obtained below or from the Clerk to the Governors.

Appeals must be sent to the Clerk to the Governors by the closing date 4.00 pm on Friday 27th March 2026.

Do not send appeals to the school or to your Local Authority.

At least 10 days’ notice will be given advising the date of the appeal (usually heard in May or early June on a date to be arranged).

Any additional evidence must be provided to the Clerk to the Governors no later than 2 school days before the appeal hearing so it can be sent to the appeal panel.

Where possible, decision letters will be sent out within 5 school days of the last day of appeal hearings.

If the academy is oversubscribed, i.e., we have more applications than we have spaces in our academy, we will use the oversubscription criteria listed in the admissions policy for the relevant year, to allocate places. Where we are oversubscribed, we will maintain a waiting list. Please note, your child’s position on the waiting list may move up or down. The waiting list must be ranked in line with our admissions policy criteria and therefore the waiting list is re-ranked with each new mid-year admission request. To see a copy of our admissions policies, see our policies page here.

Visit the school/tours

The school runs open events every year but also offers school tours – We are very happy to show prospective parents around our academy throughout the school year. We hold our Open Events during September and October and booking arrangements will be advertised on the website and via social media.

Please contact Mrs C Sheppard – [email protected] – if you wish to visit.
