The academy has expectations that are shared between the staff and students so that all students have a right to learn and all staff have a right to facilitate learning. At THOA we believe that everyone has the right:
We hope that by encouraging positive behaviour patterns we can promote good relationships throughout the academy built on trust and understanding, and that through the use of this policy we can support all of our students in developing a high level of social awareness. Our aim is to ensure that all our students leave the academy with the key skills they need to continue to progress to the best of their ability in all areas of life.
Attitude to Learning
At THOA we report attitude to learning grades every ½ term. We expect pupils to be ready to learn in all lessons. This means attending, being punctual, having the appropriate equipment, completing all tasks, showing a desire to commit to being the very best that a pupil can be and demonstrating the reliance to come back after a failure.

Uniform
Our THOA Dress Code aims to reinforce a sense of equality and instil pride in our academy. All pupils are expected to uphold the Dress Code and establish a high standard of appearance in the school and locality.
Safeguarding
We are extremely aware of our responsibilities for safeguarding children and assume these responsibilities with rigour. THOA annually reviews safeguarding policies alongside governors to ensure the safety and well being of all learners. We are keen to ensure that that all learners understand how to keep themselves safe from relevant risks such as exploitation and extremism, including when using the internet and social media.
