Year 7 Rugby Tournament

7th October 2026

A fantastic afternoon of rugby for our Year 7 boys, who showed incredible determination, teamwork and progress throughout the tournament.

Match 1: vs QE

The boys got off to a brilliant start against QE, showing exceptional tackling and rucking throughout. Their determination to win every collision and work hard for each other was outstanding. There were some excellent attacking moments too, with Will scoring twice, Ronnie adding two tries and Coby getting himself on the scoresheet.

Match 2: vs Ludlow

A really close and competitive game against Ludlow, with the boys narrowly losing by just one try. Despite the result, their confidence continued to grow, and they showed real resilience and a willingness to keep battling until the final whistle. The progress from the first game was clear to see.

Match 3: vs Lacon

Another brilliant contest, with the boys coming away with a 2–1 victory. It was an end-to-end game, with both teams working hard and creating opportunities. Our support play was excellent, and it was fantastic to see the boys putting into practice the skills and techniques they have been developing in their PE lessons. Will got us on the scoresheet before Finley produced a brilliant moment right at the end to secure the win!

Player of the Tournament: Ronnie

A thoroughly deserved award for Ronnie, whose attitude throughout the afternoon was unbelievable. He covered every blade of grass, tackled everything in front of him and never stopped working for his teammates. His commitment, determination and willingness to put his body on the line for the team set a brilliant example for everyone.

A huge well done to every single player! Every boy worked incredibly hard, supported one another and represented the school brilliantly. The tackling, rucking, support play and overall determination were fantastic to see, and the improvement across the afternoon was clear.

Most importantly, the boys should be proud of how they performed and how they put everything they have been learning into practice. Plenty to be proud of and lots to build on!
