At Tenbury High Ormiston Academy, we believe that enrichment is a vital part of a young person’s education. Experiences beyond the classroom help pupils build confidence, discover new interests, and develop the independence and character that prepare them for life beyond school as well as taking our pupils outside of their community.
Our aim is to provide the very best opportunities for every pupil — from trips and workshops to clubs and broad cultural experiences — while ensuring they remain affordable for families. We are committed to giving as much notice as possible for all activities so parents can plan with ease.
We will achieve this aim by ensuring you as families have an overview of all the trips we currently offering – whilst these trips are never set in stone, it is vital that each year group gets a similar experience throughout their time at Tenbury High. By setting our trips out on this overview it enables us to launch the trip even earlier reducing the monthly instalments down to more affordable amounts.
We also have various grants and funds that may be available to you – so it’s always worth contacting me first before deciding the trip is not possible due to financial reasons. I’m also interested in understanding other reasons if a trip or experience is declined – this will help us with future trips.
We are also introducing more universal enrichment – experiences that every child can take part in for free – whether that be in school or off site; this is achieved through various fundraising events throughout the year so by supporting these you are helping your child, your child’s friends and the whole school community.
School should be full of exciting, life changing experiences. Do you still remember a particular school trip?
Mine was Outdoor Adventure in Bude… I was in Year 9… and I’m a little bit older now but still remember it like yesterday… I want that for our children.
